In this tutorial we are going to learn about What is Difference Between Analog Signal and Digital Signal?
What is Signal – Signal is an electromagnetic that represent data. Signal are used to transfer data from one device to another a communication channel, there is two types of signal 1. analog and 2. digital.
Analog Signal – Analog signal which signal are in continuous form is called analog signal. It is vary with time , It is represent in sine wave, As per image of analog signal which are in continues wave form, it is used in low bandwidth signal.It is easily effected to noise , when data transfer one point other point in case data will be loss in analog signal, telephone line is most commonly used which transfer the data in analog form.
Digital Signal – Digital signal is sequence of voltage represent in binary form. Digital signal which signal are in discrete form is called digital signal.It is represent in square wave like 0 and 1. As per below image of digital signal.It is used in high signal ,It is not easily effected to noise .In digital signal 1 means 5V and 0 means 0V. when data transfer one point other point in case data will not be loss in analog signal, In audio signal can not available digital signal. Computer is main example of digital.

In a truly digital world there would only be 1s & 0s. In electronics PCB design we represent them as “high” & “low” signals. When the input to the component is high voltage the component switches (this is known as the high threshold). When the input signal falls back to the low voltage, the component switches back. (this is known as the low threshold). Unfortunately, when you send a high-speed digital signal down a wire it gets distorted through internal reflections & coupling to other traces. This may cause the signal to momentarily jump above the high threshold or fall below the low threshold, causing components to switch when they shouldn’t. These effects are analog.
